I love your designs, tell me about the metal?

We, at Lisa Lehmann Designs, only use sterling silver and 14 or 18 karat gold. We are kind of snobby like that.

Are you environmentally friendly?

I am SO glad you asked. Our commitment to the environment is evident in our use of 100% recycled metals, as well as genuine fair trade gemstones. Our studio practices are also based on finding the best ways to do things with the least amount of chemicals.

My jewelry does NOT look exactly like the photo on your website!

Yay! That shows you that we custom made this piece just for you in our Grand Haven, Michigan studio! If everything looked alike we would be more of a factory than handcrafted. We consider that a total win!

Will my design be packaged for gifting?

This is our speciality. We want you to be so thrilled with your order from the time you place it, to the moment it arrives on your doorstep. Your jewelry will be in a beautifully packaged box. Would you like gift wrapping? We can do that too! Just choose that option when you check out!

I'm thinking I want a custom design, do you do that?

We do. But. It's limited. Lisa Lehmann Designs can custom create a piece just for you. We only take a few custom orders per season, so please reach out to us to see if we might be able to accommodate you.

Ring sizing is tricky ... can I just guess?

Please please don't. Rings are considered custom orders and non-returnable. Some rings can be resized for a fee, some cannot. If you are unsure of your ring size, visit a mall jewelry store or the jewelry counter as some major department stores. There are some online sizing tools but they are not entirely accurate.

I love my jewelry! How should I best take care for it?

Sterling silver loves to be worn. It will shine brightly. Otherwise, store your jewelry in a close to as an airtight space as possible. Plastic bag. Jewelry box. Something where it is the most protected from outside elements and air.

I meant to store my jewelry properly, but apparently I didn't and it's tarnished ... now what do I do?

To clean your silver you can use a jewelry cleaning cloth. Many commercial cleaners are just way too harsh, not to mention their scary ingredients. A little baking soda and a SOFT toothbrush o a long way. Is it really bad? Contact us. We would be happy to make your jewelery look like new with all the magic tricks we know.

Where do you source your metal and stones?

Lisa Lehmann Designs is VERY committed to the environment. It is critical to us that we use recycled metals whenever possible and purchase ethically sourced stones!

I purchased one of your blackened designs, will it last forever?

It will not. But. We consider this a beautiful thing. Your design becomes, even more, unique to you with wear. Body chemistry. Exposure to sweat, lotions, oils or cleaning products can affect the patina. We can always re-blacken for you. just contact us.

What exactly is a cabochon (cab-oh-shaan) stone?

Great question. A cabochon stone is often called a "cab" for short. What it refers to is the cut of the stone. What defines a cab, is a domed or rounded top and a flat back. Although all stones CAN be cut this way, many are not. Why? Because sometimes the facets are what is need to make a stone truly sparkle. For instance, a diamond cabochon would just look like a clearish white stone, not special. An aquamarine doesn't have the same brilliance. It's definitely more cost effective and a very beautiful cut, but just not suitable for all stones.
